Share Food Program MLK Day of Service

Share Food Program leads the fight against food insecurity in the Philadelphia region, by serving an expansive, quality partner network of community-based organizations and school districts engaged in food distribution, education and advocacy.Thank you for your dedication to fighting food insecurity in the Philadelphia region. Thanks to volunteers like you, Share distributes over 1.5 million pounds of food to people facing food insecurity each week! This MLK Day of Service will focus on the core values of Share Food Program, join us as we continue the fight against food-insecurties.

Volunteer Opportunities will begin as early as 9:00am. Volunteers will help with the following task.....

Location: 2901 W. Hunting Park Avenue , Philadelphia, Pa 19129

TEFAP Line ( Food Assembly Line)

  • Packing produce boxes for delivery
  • Physical Expectations: You’ll be expected to lift products (between 2-5lbs) to help pack boxes on an assembly line. It’s possible you may have to lift between 30-31lb boxes during the process. 
  • What to Bring/Wear: Since you’ll be in Share’s warehouse for this opportunity, you’ll be required to wear closed-toed shoes. If you’re able, please bring a mask, gloves, and water bottle. If not, we have extras! 

CSFP Line ( Food Assembly Line)

Administrative Support

  • filling envelopes
  • executing miscellenous office task & duties
