MLK Day of Service with Joyful Readers

Every year, thousands and thousands of people throughout the Philadelphia region come out to volunteer on MLK Day. At Joyful Readers, we're excited to host our first-ever MLK Day of Service project at Mastery Clymer Elementary School, a K-6 school in the Nicetown/Tioga community in North Philadelphia!

Together, we'll support the students and families of Clymer by leading a literacy carnival for students and creating a variety of literacy-themed murals around the school. Not a good painter? No worries - we sketch everything out and provide you with a paint-by-numbers experience to make sure everything looks good at the end of the day.

If you'd like to register a group of 5 or more, please e-mail Lila Jonas - ljonas@joyfulreaders.org

Please note that our volunteer opportunities for MLK Day are only open to teenagers and adults. If you'd like to bring your school-aged children with you, they're welcome to participate in the Literacy Carnival. Please make sure to register them as well!
