Organization Profile
The exhibition runs from March 9 – April 9. Our reception and program is March 12.
Once again, we are honored to bring this project to Beth Am Israel and to give witness to the many beautiful souls lost to gun violence. In our evening program we will widen the lens to examine how one tragic death disrupts -- and then motivates -- families, communities, and organizations to make significant change for all of us.
About SSPP:
Souls Shot Portrait Project pairs fine artists with families and friends who have lost loved ones to gun violence. The artists work in concert with these families to get to know the loved ones through photos, memorabilia, videos, and the all-important stories. The portraits are created using diverse approaches, styles, and mediums that emphasize the uniqueness of the souls portrayed. Visiting the exhibition is a powerful experience. It connects viewers with, and gives voice to, those taken by gun violence.
