VUOTS 2021 MLK Day of Service Community Give Back

Our goal on 01/18/21 is to give 100 individuals, (youth and/or families MLK Day activities packets to take home to enjoy. The activities will provide information or pictures that express equality and peace, MLK, and our fight against COVID-19. We will be giving out paint kits for youth & families plus educational giveaways to take home. In addition to having WAWA juices and snacks that they donated to VUOTS.

JRA Volunteers Needed to Pack Boxes of Food

The Jewish Relief Agency is looking for volunteers to help pack boxes of food and supplemental items in January in preparation for the MLK Food Distribution. This is a great opportunity for individuals, families, and small groups! For additional details and sign-up information, please visit JRA's clients depend on volunteers to pack and deliver food to their homes each month. JRA has initiated safety protocols and procedures surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic in order to ensure that all volunteer shifts are limited at 25 individuals and that volunteers maintain 6-10ft apart at all times. King Day of Service 2021: Signature Site Planning Meeting

On January 18, 2021 volunteers throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware will participate in the 26th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, the largest King Day event in the nation. Last winter, more than 150,000 people of all ages and backgrounds throughout the Philadelphia region volunteered in some 1,800 service projects. Each year Global Citizen organizes the King Day of Service Signature Site event. Girard College will again be the host of the 2021 King Day of Service Signature Site event. We are hosting several planning meetings for our Girard College Signature Site event where staff will provide information about organizing projects at the site and assist coordinators in the development of their projects. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these meetings will all be hosted online. For more information about the King Day of Service for 2021, click here.
