Reading Captain Virtual Training
For the last three years the Reading Captains initiative has fought to protect every child’s right to read in Philadelphia by connecting community members on the ground to a citywide movement for early literacy - the Read by 4th Campaign. Reading Captains are trusted community members who are passionate about childhood literacy and want to do more for families and see systems do more for them too.
About 400 people have already been trained as reading captains and this year we’re making a commitment to train 300 more. We want to make sure that every region in the city has early literacy champions.
We, current reading captains and the administrative team at Global Citizen, want you to join this movement. Delivered by two seasoned Reading Captains, this training will certify you as a Reading Captain in Philadelphia.
