MLK Day with Folkshul & The Kaiserman JCC

Come and join Folkshul and the Kaiserman JCC for an intergenerational morning of service focused on engaging kids, grownups and grandparents in helping the grater Philadelphia community in a hands on morning of projects and education.

Our goal for the day is to celebrate Dr King’s life, honor his vision and contribute to our community in order to continue Dr. King's legacy. 

The activities for the morning are:

  • A children's concert featuring muscicians Two of a Kind

  • Activism Creation Station

  • Putting together 100+ toiletry bags for the Mitzvah Pantry

  • Creating no-sew fleece scarves for Face2Face Germantown

  • Read alouds with books focused on social justice, social activism and tikkun olam (repair of the world)

  • Workshops on moving from ally to activist facilitated by Need In Deed

  • Creating activism posters
