Organization Profile
The George Washington Carver Community Center is committed to provide, foster and encourage recreation, education, and principles of good citizenship among the youth and adults of the community in order to improve their minds, morals, and bodies for the betterment of themselves and the community. We will incorporate new programs as deemed necessary for the advancement and growth of the community.
Our lovely 62 year old structure has been participating in the MLK Day of Service for many years now and it has been very successful. We appreciate everyone coming in to assist with the beautification of our building's upkeep. Things that we are requesting are; 1) cleaning: Dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and etc. This volunteer position will consist of a variety of duties mentioned above, which are the minor parts of this project.
2) painting: light painting in specific areas. Minor spackle, sanding, and etc.
3) exterior repairs and cleaning to the building: parking lot and pool areas. Front areas: cleaning, trash removal, and vine/branch removal. Trash removal and emptied into dumpsters.
4) organization: Office work, stocking supplies, removal of old items and trash moved to dumpsters.
